Gentlemen, need your help on replacing original type front sway bar bushing in the original brackets, bought 15/16 Energy Suspension bushing, I've done everything possible, is there a trick out there? Do I have the wrong size, it's definitely a 68 GTX sway bar, should I have gotten the 7/8 bushing? Help
Thanks Ben

The method that i use, and others, is to cut the weld on one side of the bracket.
Bend the bracket back far enough to slide the bushing in, where it needs to be.
Re-weld the bracket back together.
I really think that's the only way your gonna get a bushing replaced, in one of those sway bars.

Thanks Jim, that's about the only way I could see doing it with the original brackets, I thought about buying a kit for the original sway bar but can't figure which one is would be best. I appreciate your response, that's what I'll do, by the way my brother when he was in Air Force used to fly a F4-E Phantom (wild weasel) looks like your pic of plane
