I thought all these new cars had auto off headlights? My mother-in-law's new Nitro seems to not have this feature? No EVIC, so..?? Any way to add this feature for her?

Thanks, but manual is sparce and only shows how to set with an EVIC and this model (Heat) doesn't have the EVIC. Suppose it can be set with a scanner?

EVIC?
and....there's a new vehicle with fully manual headlights on it?! awesome! finally!
I hate that automatic crap, where there maybe a headlight switch, but it really doesn't do anything as the computer decides when to turn them off and on for you. the worst vehicle I've ever driven in that regard was a '00 Olds Alero. put the vehicle in drive, and no matter what you did with the headlight switch, the front headlights and parking lights were always on. made it annoying when driving onto base at night where the custom is to turn off the headlights so you're not blinding the security forces troop who's checking IDs. At least on my wife's new Toyota, there's "off, Auto, parking, headlight" options on the headlight switch, and as the driver I have the ability to over-ride the "auto" feature if I wanted to.
anyway...off topic. back to your topic about auto-headlights on your mom's ride.

Found some info on a Dodge Nitro message board...says electrical turns off after 10 minutes, including headlights, dome lights, etc. I wonder if there is a way to set the headlights with a scanner?
