I am interested in knowing the difference between a 1.75 or 2.25 back space for a front drag rim if fitment is not an issue? I have heard that a lot of the SS/AH guys used the 2.25 back spacing but don't know reasoning behind it. Is it different for B body cars as opposed to A bodies? Any info concerning this is appreciated.

The bigger back spacing puts the center line of the
tire closer to the ball joint... the closer you get
the center of the tire to the ball joint you have less
brake torque(the tire tries to pull back more the
farther out it is)

We run a bigger backspace front wheel because most aftermarket front brake kits push the wheel out a little farther than stock. It looks better with the front lowered and the front tire tucked in. We put the same wheel on A and B bodies
