I thought I would go through my rocker arms just checking for excessive lash, all of the lifters were pretty squishy but seemed to be in adjustment (just because they were pushing the rockers against the valve) except for one that would not budge. I loosened the adjuster and found it took about 1/2 turn before I felt the pushrod loosen.

Motor is big block wedge, the cam is a comp custom grind, similar to XE285HL, lifters are comp 824-16. The engine last ran a couple of months ago no noises, ran fine. Heads are performer rpms. Motor has < 1000 miles on it.

So - I guess I either have a stuck lifter or one lifter just hasn't bled down. Should I pull the lifter and look at it, or is there an easier way to check this out?

Thanks

Fire it up and run it.

i would say the lifter didn't bleed down. if the tappets are spinning when the engine is running and there aren't any odd noises i'd leave it alone.

The XE cams are noisey with the aggressive hydraulic lift..
