I would love to start on a 41 Willy's project with a blown 426 HEMI Someday. I see kits out here using shortened Chevy S10 chassis. Any one use a shortened Dakota Chassis mated to a Willy's body?

I wouldn't build a willys using a s10 chassis especially if you are going to go with a blown Hemi. ,they just don't look right, you can get Mandrell bent frame rails(around $700.00) and go with a mustang II style frontend or go with an axle for a gasser look and have a car worth much more than one on a S10 chassis. buy a good body from a better place. stay away from the "Kits" offered from Fla. a willys from a place like Outlaw is a much better body and well built,Yes they cost more but the quality is far superior. there are a few bodys offered in the mid west that look pretty nice also.. just my opinion Ron...

i agree, do not use an s-10 frame, i have built both an outlaw and a dennis taylor willys, who did work for outlaw at onetime, he is no longer in biz as far as i know, i think clayton in north carolina has his molds, the outlaw chassis is the way to go, best out there in my opinion, and trust me neither ones are "kits", there is alot of fabrication and engineering that goes into these cars, espessialy with a hemi, stay away from the "beast" from fla, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

I agree with all of the above. What got me thinking about it was a guy not too far away had a Willy's project on a custom box tube frame advertised "trade for a musclecar". I offered a trade for my Charger project but he wanted a turn key driver. Now I was just looking for a alternative way of obtaining a Willys on a lower budget.

its more like atleast 60k in body, chassis, blown motor, trans, paint, interior and all the other goodies to finish it right, if done right they are still commanding big dollars in the 60-100k range.
