Ok I need help figuring out a gas leak. Car is a 70 Cuda 426 2 4-barrel. Problem is after driving around and parking a puddle of fuel can be seen behind the car like fuel coming out the filler neck. Not just a couple of drops but about 1/2 a cup or more. Filler tube is new so it shouldn't be it. What gives?

It's not vented right(the gas tank). How is it vented now?

The entire car was redone at one time and the fuel system was supposed to be completely rehabbed as well. Don't have the car here with me to look but the leak looks to be coming from close to the cap. Is this where the vent line connects?

No, the vent line is on the top/passenger side. The fill tube is behind the plate though, and sealed to the tank with a big grommet-type seal. It could very well be that.

Wasn't there a bad run of filler tube seals a few years ago? One could have found its way onto this car.

Thanks guys! When it warms up a bit I'll have to take a short ride then crawl under to find exactly where leak is originating. Didn't know about the bad run of seals. Car was redone about 5 years ago.
