Hello, just curious if I was to buy a 392 crate hemi from Mopar. What computer and wiring harness would be the best for a 70 challenger conversion? Do they make one that works with the 6.4? Would a 727 be ok with this motor? Thanks in advance

They sell a complete 392 with wiring harness and computer. Have it in my 70 Cuda. Fastest car I have aver had. Car is faster than my old 70 Charger with a 472 hemi.

I heard you could use the 6.1 08-10 computer and harnesses. I don't know if that is true. That engine has been brought up here since it is only about $1k more than what the used 6.1 engines bottom out for.

Which 6.4 wer talking about the factory SRT version or the 6.1 based 392 version.

The srt version you will have to change a few things over. The stock 6.4 intake will have to be changed to the 6.1 version as the 6.4 has a variable length runner system that you can't control as of yet. Then you would have to change the tone ring on the crank and the crank senors to the older 6.1 version to run it.

The 6.1 version of the 392 there is alot more options to get her running but that cost 14-15k for jus tthe engine

You can control the variable runner intake on the 6.4 w/out the computer, a few guys on the LXForums have put them on 5.7's and are controlling them with an RPM switch (set for around 4400 RPM or so). The biggest thing is the VVT, you could lock out the cam with a kit, I'm not sure if there's a controller yet that can do it
