Here is my new one. Well not all new we just added to what was there. I actually hated the tall scoop on the Barracuda, so we decided to ad a cowl to it. After a couple of days of cussing and work we finally have it like we want. A little more trimming to do in the rear on the cowl and some blending and bodywork up top. But my son will have that whipped out tonight. So what do you guys think? Oh yeah it will soon be sporting some new color. Custom blended just picked it up today. Will also have more "stuff" done to it. All the bodywork on the car is done including restretching of the wheelwells and fixing the few dents and dings as well as enclosing the front lower valance area. Hoping ot have it all done in a couple of weeks. Get the stuff back from powder coating and then need to find a nice grille or someone that can reqork mine.. Anyway enjoy!

Al I think the old scoop looked good. I think the one you made will look much better with color on it. But whats important is if YOU like it! Looks like a good job of mating the 2 scoops. From one Barracuda guy to another!! Don

What engine are you running this year? Is it going to be the Hemi 99 engine still, or is there something else in the pipeline??

I have been watching this type scoop for awhile...'572'..had the first cowl hood with another on top. Everybody kinda' gave him a hard time for awhile. After some testing and problems with hood /carb clearance and forward facing scoops,,,it all started to make sense to me, and some others evidently, as posts have shown. I will have 'my' design in pics as soon as my fiberglass 'guru' can get done with all the Corvettes he is working on!! Hint:..cowl hood with a narrowed '68 Hemi scoop..

Car had a 68 Hemi scoop on it. Nowhere near enough room for the engine combo. Barely held the B1.
As for powerplant. Well seems no one wants a smoking deal on a 99 Hemi so we will likely put it back in the car. Cant even get anyone to trade me anything plus a little cash for it. I have an Indy engine sitting here as well but thats no fun. I just wont be able to really race anything with it and the 99 in place. Well the MATS maybe. Not really a show up at a bracket race kinda deal ya know. But we will figure out soemthing to do with it, since we still have no word on Hot Street and we are less than one month away from the first race i am thinking it is done...

I must say all of these "chevy hood" comments make me laugh Whatever works I say! Most Mopars down here have a Phurd diffs in them, I wonder how the Purple Cam crew would feel about that, lol I take it Al, that the Hemi 99 is no longer legal or would require too much ballast for Hot Street?

Alan, Do you have a copyright on "Purple Cam Crew"?? I feel an inspiration for some T-shirts!!
Al, I don't expect the National to fill up that quick, but it would be nice to know something from PSCA...BTW the new scoop looks like what I see when I look down at the urinal...a [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] hanging out of a zipper! just sayin...

Billy, you are a funny guy. But I think you may be looking through the wrong lens on your bifocals when you are standing at the urinal I agree I can probably wait a few days but once it opens to one grade point I think it will fill in a few days. At least I hope it would. just wish I could get an answer either way. The silence is a strong answer I believe...

After getting some messages/texts/phone calls, I figured I should come back here, and see what is going on. I read the posts that were made, and although I am the original owner of the car, simply put, it isn't my car anymore, and Al can do whatever he wants with it. (Last time I checked, that was the way it is supposed to be) Although the car was far from perfect, and certainly not a show car, when I owned it, I always appreciated the kind words that people made, when I had it at the track. Since I sold the car, some snide comments have been made about the car, and towards me, by a few people, and I decided to take the high road, and say nothing in a forum setting like this. Everyone has an agenda, but, I find it better to focus on my own. Sorry to hijack, but, after all of the calls, etc., I figured I should post something, as I don't really come on this board anymore. Take Care, Chris

Well WOW is all I can say..Let me just clear the air a little bit here. Let me preface it by saying it is probably going to be way long. But those who know me know I kinda of have the gift of gab First off I took nothing anyone typed poorly in any way. Anyone that knows me can confirm that I could care less what people think of me or my cars, any of them. We do what we do becuase we love doing it. Not to impress others. If people like what we do fine, if they dont that's fine too. But believe me I do not do any of this to impress anyone else. Everyone is entitiled to an opinion and to express it. Maybe I could have typed my reponse a little better but I thought it was just a little board banter between posters. That is all.... As for some of the other posts about the car. First and foremost I purchased this car from a FRIEND not a stranger I did not know. When I did finally purchase the car from Chris we both knew the class was likely a goner for this season. I would have preferred to purchase it as a roller but Chris wanted to sell it complete which was obviously fine with me as it has been in my garage for a few months. So buying it without doing my research and having to totally change the car was the intent from the beginning. Not an oh S*%t what do I do know thing. I think Chris will tell you we never intended to run it there to begin with. But if the oppourtunity was there sure I would run it in Hot Street. I have it why not use it and likely will continue for now to find a place to race it. I bought the car because I KNEW it was a quality top notch piece that had no money spared in the build. make no mistake this is a great car, and Chris did an awesome job when putting it together, PERIOD. Anything we change on the car will be what we feel is an area to improve the car. As for the paint, hey it's what we do. I am sorry if anyone got bent out of shape or took things the wrong way in this post. All I wanted to do was share what we had been doing. Hopefully when it is all done it will come out nice that is all I am concerned with. My son is doing 90% of the color change and modifications and he is making the calls on the stuff we are doing. Afterall I am old and out of touch with what cool so it his dealio

Well just got some late breaking news. I just received a text that said Hot Street WILL be returing to the PSCA for 2012. So looks like we will put the Hemi back in and go play some more. Unless someone buys it before the race in March... Then again we have not heard the Judges final decision on Fontana's fate yet either so who knows...

The courts decision will only affect the Pro and Outlaw guys. The track is no jeopardy of closing. As far as the noise deal at Fontana, you DO NOT need to do a thing to the Cuda. The current exhaust will pass tech, and you will get a run card. Dave Murray (Coppertop) is the race director, and the REF merged collectors are fine. (I checked, and had it ok'd way back when)
