I have a problem with the belt on my 97 Caravan 3.3L-when I hit a large puddle at slow speeds the belt goes. I was told years ago that the factory belts were(some) bad and that was the problem. Last March I put on a nice Gatorbelt by Goodyear and today the stupid thing went off after hitting a big puddle going about 20 mph. Yesterday we drove 80 miles in the pouring rain down the highway at 70+ and nothing happened. Anyone have a fix? Could it just be the tensioner, which is in fact the original. But way back in like 2000 when we had the first problem the van was only 3 yrs old with less than 20K on it, so the tensoiner probably was fine. This cat is confused!

Saw a lot of them with thrown belts. Some threw them a lot more than others.Never could understand why the same vehicles one throws a belt one wont.Installed the Gates kit on quite a few and never had any problems.Rocky
