The original variable speed wipers in my 71 Barracuda wouldn't "park" anymore, so I thought I'd swap out the motor with an NOS '73 (black cap) motor I've had for years. This motor parks fine, but at 180 degrees opposite from my original motor, which would leave my wipers pointing straight up if I hooked up the drive link, and probably drive the blades right off the windshield if I turned them on. Is there a different crank arm I need to use to hook up this '73 motor? Or can the '73 motor be "clocked" or adjusted to park as much as 180 degrees from its current setting? Thanks.

Clock the switch plate to the 077 position.
Use the 289 cam arm but the hole will be too big for the 72-75 shaft.
See attachment.

Contact me about your 71 wiper motor as it is probably an easy fix to make it park.

I've been sitting here trying to figure out how to clock this thing to the 077 position like you said, but I didn't see a tab or a mark to line up with that. Then I looked at the photos on your website (very nice work, by the way!) and saw that tiny little tab. Then I found mine. Look where it is (attached). 180 degrees off! I'm thinking my NOS motor isn't really so NOS.

Of course, now that I've adjusted it properly, I think I have another problem which I'll show in the next photo.

I think my 2 green wires and the blue wire are crossed, and soldered to the wrong terminals (see attached)? Do I need swap these and re-solder them?

Sorry about the small tab. I should have mentioned that.
You now have the switch plate on correctly.
The wires do not need to be relocated.
Leave them like that. It will work fine.
What is the part number on the barrel of your motor please?

# 3431665

Also 73692

And 2083, which I'm guessing is the date code.

That is a 73 B and E body 3 speed motor.
You should be good to go.
