The raised area on the cover with PCV valve makes it a 71 or 72

I think the only difference between Hipo and Lopo is the Spark plug wire tab by the PCV valve. Hipo covers have no tab there. So I believe if someone wanted to they could remove it and use them fora Hipo motor.
Larry
Exactly , I have done that on a few sets myself over the years. That being said a Hi Performance engine in a C body with HP manifolds ran the #7 plug wire on that cover .

71-75 used that shape of covers. Tabs and looms depended on year, model and motor. In the pic the white ones are 75, blue are 73 and org are 71. My 74 Coronet 400 has the same style.

Agian depends on model year ect. B-body HP's do not have a plug wire loom on the left cover as where C-body HP does but yes, that is the difference between HP and non.
