as the post heading says - is anyone using one of these yet for street/strip.
they do seem priced right and i think my 825 mighty demon might be in for a change as it has become more niggley to tune.
Specifically i am asking about the 850 ,#8084 , model.seems to be as big as a hp1000
copied from Holley :

Important note: Venturi sizes vary considerably from previous Holley i.e new 950CFM is larger than the previous 1000CFM, the new
850CFM is larger than the old 950CFM etc.

Part # Venturi Diameter Throttle Bore Description

0-80803BK 1.375” 1.687” 750 CFM Shiny Aluminum Ultra HP - with Black Billet

0-80804RD 1.562” 1.750” 850 CFM Shiny Aluminum Ultra HP - with Red Billet

0-80805RD 1.625” 1.750” 950 CFM Shiny Aluminum Ultra HP - with Red Billet

By the way i have tried a hp950,smaller then my 825, and lost 3/10's plus MPH

Yes, I've been using a new 950 for awhile now. Very nice carb, not very many reasons to buy anything else these days.

thanks Andy,
i remember you saying some things when they were released
have you found any benefit to plugging the rear PV and just jetting ?or is using the PV an economy (ha ha )/cruise related item ?
