I am putting some 08 Ram leather seats into a 80 Ramcharger.

I have the main harness that connects to the drivers seat, then branches off to the center console ( two wires ina plug pictured) and then a four wire into the pass side seat( four wires) which I am guessing is for heated seats????

Now I have any idea what wires go to what? And I am also guessing if the seat are heated, like my dually ram, then then I need a two switch dash switch for the activating them.

Does anyone have any ideas where to find the wiring for this system? Or any ideas?

The below are pics and a portion of a post I put on Ramcharger central.com

Thanks

2008 RAM LEATHER SEATS/ QUESTIONS.

Ok, so here is the deal. I removed the old seats from some brackets that were RAG TAGGED connected to the van seats that I removed. However the old brackets gave me a good platform to use for the new seats, once I removed the standard brackets from the 08 seats, which made them too high.

Now the brackets that's remained fold forwards. I have no idea if they are stock or not?

I am going to use some stock and build flat tops for the brackets that remain and weld them on top of those brackets. Since the new seats fold upwards, I don't need the old brackets to fold towards the dash and will simply bolt them into the floor, see pics. Once the flat stock is welded to the brackets, I can attach the seats and bolt them in.

Once the seats are bolted in, I will have to figure out the seat belts as they were attached to the brackets that I removed. Worse case scenario, is I use nice old school belts bolted into the stock locations. I should be able to find a way to use the new belts that match the seats and make them strong.

As you can see the passenger side seat is damaged. The pass side of the Ram was hit hard I guess as I bought the seats removed from the truck for $100.00. The leather is not hurt and I will need to pull up the upholstery and fix the springs and maybe add some foam.
Them I believe I can buy the side piece/ plastic and seat lever new and fix the rest. I have seen these seats go for over a grand so I am very happy with them for my price.

On the drivers side, I need the small panel that snaps into the side.

If anyone know where to get these parts I would appreciate a message or source? I will start researching.

CENTER CONSOLE/ BUDDY SEAT--

As you can see the center console sits too low. I WONT use it as a center seat, so the strength is no worry to me. I like the console and extra 12VOLT electrical outlets inside that I will use. So that said, I will build a bracket to make this the correct height. I will also need to wire in the 12volt.

WIRING

OK, now as good as time as ever to discuss the wiring. There are three plug that go to the main seat, center console and pass side seat. The main bulkhead of the harness is good. The seats came with the cut side on the body side plug. As you can see, I will need to figure out all that wiring, as there are a lot of wires in the harness.

9 total wires.
One thicker black
One thicker orange with a red stripe.
7 remaining smaller wires.

So I know only two go to the center console and four to the pass seat. I am guessing the seats are heated and it would be nice to make that work.
The drivers side is also automatic in sliding forward. Time to find out which ones work what parts?? Anyone have any ideas or websites to check?

I bought this rig, planning on keeping one of them, but they are so different that I am keeping both. The 77 is a slanty and may be a better all trail rig as I threw the old roof away as it was total junk. The 77 is going to be a green, almost jeep rescue green.

This 80 is starting to get me thinking. Since the seats are working out the way I wanted, I have now have some sort of direction, (NOT STOCK) and I have no plans on trying to find the stock trim. I may have to have a scotch and cigar tonight, stare at this rig and start thinking of what color to do it!!!!

It look slike one of the diagrams will help with the heated seats as the colors match. Now I need to go find a heated seat switch!
Thanks

If you can see the individual motors under the seat it might help you figure out some of the seat switching. I have a soft spot for Ramchargers Good luck!

Ralphie361 , or anyone else since its been almost a year, unfortunately I can not see in the seats and the colors don't jive. I am guessing that they could be a year older or newer or close and am guessing that would change the colors. was there a source for these schematics? A place where I can search as I cant seem to find anything?

thanks RUMBLON
