Do you now that Husqvarna started to build bikes before Harley-Davidson did!
I knew that they also made sewing machines and shot guns , but I had no idea that they were making bikes for that long. My first was a 1979 390 W.R. and that thing could get me into trouble in a hurry. I still have a 1991 260 WXE ( two stroke ) and a 2002 TE 410 ( four stroke ) T Boomer , that key fob is a great little keep sake , and one heck of a piece of family history. I raced enduros till '04 and still like to play in the woods when I can. One of the best bad habits I ever had.

Those were the days. Thank the AMA for pulling American riders away from international competition......Especially in MX. Then look to see where yanks place in ISDE , world Trials , moto G.P. etc. If you want to be the best , you need to compete against the best I think. And we do have some phenomenal riders , but the incentive to race abroad just isn't there unless they ( individually ) race for more than money. I got to watch a couple stops in world trials when Dougie Lampkin ruled the planet , at the time our best was Geoff Aaron , and he was ranked 22nd. in the world. The Kenny Roberts' and Nick Hayden's are few and far between.

I agree in some ways but the US has had an exceptional rider for the last 4 generations that could beat the world's best. Rick Johnson, Ricky Carmichael, to name 2. You only have to look at the MX des nations results. The 70's was ruled by euro riders with the exception of Bob Hannah. Yeah, English and spanish riders are king in trials. JMHO Mick
