Major stupid today. While installing my fire bottle brackets, the bottle released. Brand new Cold Fire System.
Anybody know where I can get it filled in lower Michigan? It did clean up nicely though.

I need to get one filled as well and have not checked on a source to do so yet. We performance tested ours at the Street Car Supernationals. Left a nasty burn on my ankle too..

So if there is info out there please fill me in. FWIW mine is Halon.

We are Cold Fire Distributors, Cold Fire is a water/foam based product. Halon is being phased out and replaced by FE36. A local fire suppression company may be able to fill your bottle depending on the valve. It would be best to send it back to the manufacturer. Keep in mind fire bottles are SFI approved and are only good for six years and at that point they are supposed to be taken out of service. They are also supposed to be recertified every two years and can only be refilled six times during their six year life span per SFI 17.1 section 2.7. Also something that is overlooked is the fact that NHRA, IHRA & ADRL require (stainless) steel tubing when a lot of the systems sold come with aluminum tubing.

Cold Fire Bottles can be recharged by Cold Fire Southeast, Pelham, AL or DJ Safety, Los Angeles, CA. Cold fire is a unique product you won't find at your local fire suppression company.

Thanks for the answers. The system is brand new. I was installing the bottle brackets without the safety pin, what a dummy.

at what point is that SFI section required? ET/MPH?? I have a halon system for my 11 sec car with aluminum tubing....it's obviously not required at my mid 11's though.
