what year did they start putting harden seats in the heads for unleaded gas

Think it was 72 or 73 ??? If not, then for sure it was 74 . . .

You won't see it as they were induction hardened not inserts.

True, my '73 400 had induction hardened seats, only could tell by the blue color on the casting after hot-tanking.

thank you everyone i have a set of 73 360 heads and was just wondering so how do i know if mind are or aren't

Personally I wouldn't worry about it. In our experience the Mopar heads can take more UL gas usage with no damage that either of the brand x heads. This especially so under the minimal mileage and light load usage most of these engines will be subjected too. If the valves need re-seating any way then have a set of hard seats installed on the exhaust valves.
