hey gang,
picked up this survivor Valiant last sunday; found it in Belgium. Original Belgian car. Slant 6, 3-speed manual, 57000 kilometers * that's about 35000 miles on the odometer *
She has some rustissues, but it's not that bad.
Original spare, jack, trunkmat, interior, paint, engine, tranny.
Only things ever replaced: waterpump,v-belt,waterhoses ( and they were in the trunk )
Car had been standing for 30 years.

Cheers, Marcel, the Netherlands

Good for you! Always fun to land something like that; I can imagine how much more exciting to find such a car over the pond. Best of luck with it.

it's nothing fancy, but it is nice to find a car as original as this one; the original waterpump was changed in the past and it was still in the trunk. I am gonna try to get it running and driving. The outside will stay like this. I am gonna clean the interior ( which is rare indeed ) and drive it. We will have a lot of fun with it!

the interior is very very dirty, due to standing for 30 years, but the floormat is almost like new. So a little elbowgrease and she is back in business.

it has some rust on the driverfender, right quarter and a little bit in the trunk, and that's it. It even had the original exhaust ( which fell apart when we loaded the car )
In the glovebox was an agenda from 1974 and a letter from 1978!
We are gonna try to get the engine running; we are gonna fill it completely with dieselfuel, let it stand for a few days, drain it, fill it with oil, clean the carb, clean the oilpump, check the spark and fire it up.

( dieselfuel cleans all the coalresidu )
