I was looking at a SFI Bellhousing on the bay and the SFI sticker is dated 5 years ago. I only go to track 1-2 times a year if lucky and should run low to mid 11,s with the 4 spd set up. Will that matter the date on the sfi sticker.

Yes it matters, but I have never seen it checked....ever! Maybe someone else has seen it though. I wouldnt imagine they would even look at something like that on a 11 second car.

I would think it would be a good thing to have just for the safety reasons.

I doubt anyone would care about it being within cert until you were to make it to a divisional race.

Kevin you can get it recertified by Tim Hyatt at HRS if you need to.You can find his information over on www.umtrnorth.com
I think his shop is near Cleveland and he can also set you up with a clutch while you get your bell certified.

Thanks for the imput. I bought it. I would be reluctant if it was used but its new just has a old date for cert. I may still look to recert it anyway. I am hoping to run island, englishtown and maple grove for the mopar events. But saftey wise I should be good. Now I cant wait till my passon trans is done. The

As an NHRA tech inspector, I MUST tell you it should be re-certified even though it "appears" to be in new or like new condition.

As a racer I can also say there is a 97% chance no tech inspector will check the date on a door car bell housing or transmission case unless you are running faster than 9.99.

Usually, the events I check for such items are divisional and nationals races. Specialty races such as you mentioned, generally have a less stringent tech inspection.
