I knew the port windows were opened up some...but not as much as they are! I matched up a stock gasket to the ports tonight...not even close! What did you guys use for gaskets, after the porting? They are NOT the Max Wedge port opening! Thanks in advance for the info! BTW...I haven't contacted Jeff yet on this. Randy B.

Randy, how tall and how wide are your ports, in thousands? My Eddy RPM CNC by Jeff needed the stock Hi Po Fel Pro 440 valley pan and gaskets trimmed to fit the ports properly so there is no overhang yours out

Yah Randy what's your port window measure I have to trim my gaskets on my heads also and a 80 grit cartridge roll works real nice cutting them

Nothing's plug N play in this game

Randy, I used the stock steel pan gasket and ported it to match as well. My port windows are even bigger then the MCH cnc heads, I bet.

Tell us your port window dimensions.

Kind do what both Roadhazard and Sport440 do.

Port/file the pan, use a homemade paper gasket cutter for the gasket radiuses(radii?), knife for straight sections, and glue the paper/pan/paper sandwich together. Then do final clean-up with coarse grit tootsie roll.

Between this, and intake-gasket-head port aligning, I do end up with some time in it.

If you are just using paper, use a knife and/or tootsie roll. You use the pan siliconed to the under side of the head right?

Jeff did a set of Indy SR's for me and I just build my own out of gasket material. However with the SR's I do not have to worry about the valley pan. I also peened the area between the ports to try to stop the gasket from moving around. I swap them out a couple times a season just to be safe. If you want more info on the gasket material let me know and I will get it for you!

Thanks everyone! My measurements are 1.284 wide...2.350 tall. The area between 2 consecutive ports is .160. My stock composite gaskets(I use an Indy valley plate)measure 1.184 x 2.260..and .270 between the port openings. So...approx. .100 larger all-around.

Randy, My heads dimentions are 2.50" x 1.22"

My stock MP, "ported" vally plate is 2.50" x 1.30"

I havent seen the Indy vally plate , but I bet you can opening it up with no problems, for what you need.

Yes Ted, I ported them myself. I actually did them twice. I havent ran them since the 2nd porting though. After measuring my port windows I may yet go in a third time and square up the top side opening.

Randy, is the intake manifold port matched to the cylinder head

If not.... just port match the gasket to the manifold and call it good

Ron..the intake IS NOT port-matched to the heads yet. I have to put the heads and intake on the short block and check for fitment. Jeff did mill the intake to compensate for the heads being milled .060. I believe he milled it .072. I have to determine how thick of a gasket is going to work before I buy new ones...which will have to be opened up to match the larger port windows. Hope you ALL have a GREAT New Year!

Hello Randy and nice choice in head work...Jeff is tops. If your still looking for gasket advice just (glue with weatherstrip adhesive) on any old gasket. Set on them and cut the window to fit with a razor knife. 60% of the time ...it works all the time !!! Just clean/prep the surface with brakeclean before hand and work QUICK, the adhesive drys IN SECONDS!<<<Read the last sentence again. After glue cures apply to coats of your motor oil to the gasket surface so the gasket don't stick to the head/etc. and trim as req'd. Happy hunting.

Hi,Sean! Yeah...Jeff knows his "stuff"! Why have ANYONE else do them..especially when I'm 35-40 minutes from his shop! Your method sounds like a good way to open up the gasket to fit the heads! I still have to buy a set of gaskets yet,but I have to check the fitment on the head-to-intake alignment..since they were both milled! The heads .060...and intake around .072 I believe. Take care buddy! Randy
