Anyone know where I can buy a new battery terminal that isn't one of those ugly type with the bolts holding the cable on? I thought someone made a terminal where the cable slid inside the rear of the terminal and was held in place with a set screw from the bottom??

I bought mine from Paddock a few years ago. Cost almost as much as a cable now. It has been on my car for 5 years or so no problems. Mike
POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE HEAD
THIS IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO REPLACING THE ENTIRE CABLE. LOOKS LIKE A FACTORY CABLE END. HAS SET SCREWS IN THE BOTTOM TO RETAIN WIRES.

Product Number QPR1

i dont know where to get one but experience has shown that those terminals (any screw on type) are a problem waiting to happen. maybe great for an emergency BUT with the high current they pass, corrosion that WILL form between the wire and the terminal WILL cut down your cranking power and eventually leave you stranded.

New cables are about $30 and are well worth it.

Forgot to mention that I'm working on my brothers truck.... 2000 GMC. So the replacement cable is not cheap.

THey make many cable ends that solder on, crimp on etc, and then get heat shrinked with some nice thick material at my workplace. The problem is they work best if you remove them from vehicle first and can deal with them on the bench. I don't know the mfgs of the stuff though....
