no,904 has a different spline slip yoke than a 727/833/833OD yes 904 has a 7290 u-joint slip yoke, find them in vans and trucks mostly, from the ones I have run across. i would think the small 7260 joints will hold up if you use a good joint that has a solid cross and not the hollow ones that get greesed. i run 7260 in about everything,i allways go to napa for a spicer super joint with the non-greeseable solid cross. I have a 7260/1330 conversion u-joint on my 742 8 3/4 which I hammer hard and no toruble from it either. granted not running high HP or 12 sec passes, but abuse the he77 out of them on the street from power brakeing to N drops at 5000 rpm I go thru more trans than u-joints though

A 904 uses a 26 spline and a 727 uses a 29 spline... weight of the car will make the big difference BUT you would most likely be better off with the 7290 joint

X2. Grease em then install and make SURE it's free in both planes in the front and 1 plane in the rear & after the install set the shaft flat on the bench but slightly supported along it's length so with the ujoint caps slightly up off the ground with the ears are at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock whack the top ear (piece between the shaft and the round cap) solidly with a medium hammer several times then turn it over so the other ear is at 12 o'clock & whack it too then move it back & forth & see if it's totally free. Check it before/after & you'll see the difference. Bang it again if need be. If not free it will not last EDIT use the rounded pein side of the hammer head and do not hit the shaft or the cap and if you are unsure of your accuracy have a helper hold the shaft & you use the hammer and a brass drift

Got a 71 Dart with 360 that has run 10.99 in Vegas with a trans brake. Using the 7260 u-joints on both ends of driveshaft going on 5 yrs now.

The car is a '69 Barracuda notchback with fiberglass front end. Guessing 3100 lbs-ish
I think I will plan for the 7290 u joints. I will head to the junkyard and get a 904 and 8 3/4 yokes for the 7290. May be hard to get the 8 3/4 yoke off at the junkyard though! I can't get the pinion nut off my 70 Sport Satellite 8 3/4 while its in the car.
I don't think you will find a 904 yoke that will take a 7290 u joint!

I just gave a 94 van 904 yoke to a member and sent the drive shaft to member stumpy,it was from a van and had a 7290 on both ends.
they are out there, should be able to buy new as well from a drive shaft shop ect...
