Yes, BUT there are folks here who can spot a replacement and, as a replacement, will likely be suspect for the rest of the car's life. From a restoration standpoint, it makes sense to have it in good shape, but like I said earlier.......
There is a point where it matters more on some cars than on others. I have the original tag for my GTS convertible, along with two broadcast sheets. It's important for that car.
I don't have the tag or a broadcast sheet for my 67 Barracuda convertible (original 273 two barrel car). It really doesn't matter on this car. It also doesn't matter on my son's 67 Dart GT convertible. Both cars have 440s, too. Here is the fender tag we put on my son's Dart.......

Marti Auto Works does a good job. I had one made for my 68 Bee. The original was rusty but you could see most of the tag. I had my broadcast sheet to figure out the rest. Do your home work for accuracy. Marti's prices are reasonable. However a non original fender tag is a non original tag whether you pay $500 for the Galen stamp of approval or do your own homework and pay Marti or whomever to punch. Again,
I used Marti also for a replacement for my rusty tag, which I now keep in my lock box. I was pleased with their work. I sent them a pencil rubbing of the tag plus a copy of the build sheet.I'm sure some people can tell it's a repo, but I couldn't see using the rusty one on a fresh resto.
