Absolutly not even close to an option......remember to build boost you have to beable to OVERFILL the cylinder with air.....that little fan wouldnt overfill N20MSTRs blow up doll...

Think of it this way.... how much HP does it take to
compress the air to make 5 psi... its gonna take
ALOT more than a 15 amp motor

I could see it as a cooling fan when you are stuck in staging on a 95 degree day. A little pricey for that I guess.

It's a boat bilge pump with some bling. Used to sell on eBay for $29.95, and they got banned.

No, it doesn't work.
There are electric superchargers that work - they have huge motors and need 200 lbs. worth of batteries.

We tried one and it worked awesome!......

On a 24hp Briggs & Stratton in a golf cart. We put a micro-switchon the throttle linkage - to a relay - to the blower. Well it DID work awesome until we hit too large of a bump and something happened to break the impellers and the engine ingested it at WOT. The throttle was hung open (woo hoo!!! Prolly 30 hp of unbridled fury!!!) and the plastic blades got melted onto the exhaust valve and it had no compression. Bummer!! We were having fun riding wheelies with two of us in the golf cart.

It DID make a huge difference on that little tiny engine - while it lasted. Too bad we broke it so far from camp.

On my Mopar? I doubt it would even notice.

to move enough air for a big V8 engine, you'd have to have what...a 20? 25? hp electric motor? how much HP does a belt driven supercharger consume?

Whatever that number is, you'd need an electric motor of the same rating. then you'd need the electric source to feed it. don't try running it off your alternator, cause A) you'll fry it, and B) you're just adding that Hp drain right back to the crank, and you might as well use a belt driven or exhaust driven blower.

batteries? like said, 200 or more pounds of lead/acid to create the juice needed to run an electric motor that big. is the 100-ish hp gain from a blower enough to overcome all the added weight of the blower, plumbing, wiring, and batteries?

now, adding that little blower to a golf cart or brigs go-cart, sounds like a TON of fun!

"Buy Plymouth Barracuda Electric Supercharger Bolt-On Kit

This supercharger is a two door car that was manufactured by the Plymouth division of Chrysler Corporation from 1964 through to 1974.The first generation Barracuda supercharging fastback A-body coupe based on the Plymouth Valiant had distinctive wraparound back glass and was available up to 1966 from 1964. The second Barracuda even though was just like the Valiant it had superchargers and was available in fastback, notchback and convertible versions. The bolt on supercharger 1970-1974E-body Barracuda, no longer had a valiant feature instead it was available as a coupe and a convertible both which were different from the previous makes and models. The electric supercharger E-body Barracuda was available and was able to shake off the stigma of economy car from 1970 to 1974 and three versions were offered into the market; the base Barracuda, the luxury oriented Gran Coupe and the sport model the ‘Cuda. The high performance models were derived from the 1969 option and were marketed as the ‘Cuda. The engine produced 190 horsepower that is equal to 140 kilo watt and produced a speed of admirable quantity not forgetting the torque."
