could be your "installation procedure" rather the parts, I've had factory and chrome water necks leak,...analyze, remedy, re-install

I've bought 5 in the last 3 years, none leak. All fit and look perfect. Now, if you use the chrome type....good luck! Jeff

Why bother with the chrome junk..
NAPA sells a cast iron clone of the Mopar OE original for $8...

Just my $0.02..

The one I got from them a 5 or 6 years ago had the bolt holes spaced wrong, and leaks slightly.

Ditto on the crap chrome ones. I went with the cheap over the counter auto parts store cast ones and no problems for years. Never tried the billet alum. ones.

You do get what you pay for...I don't care what it is. Sucks now don't it? I'd get them off of there before they cause more damage. I wonder what your bearings look like?

I don't see how the places selling the cheap chinese knock off's are gonna stay in business?
Sure some of the stuff is OK, but what about all the stuff that isn't?

How long until people figure out it's best to spend more the first time and not have to replace it so often?
I don't see how the sellers of the junk can sleep at night. Or maybe they don't know any better until they have ton's of failures and figure it out that way, letting there customers bear the R&D

Stop leak can fix a leaky thermostat housing but
stop leak aint gonna help a junk damper... get that
thing off there before you have real problems

The parts store iron necks work great. I believe the high end billet aluminum work well also. Stay away from anything in between, especially chrome!

I check them all for flatness and hit them with the belt sander if needed. Torque bolts gently or they will warp and leak. Use a little sealer for insurance... I like Permatex #1 in this application.

I stopped using gaskets a long time ago and haven't had any leaks since.

how does a buyer of any part know it is poor quality- unless someone tells him or he buys it ? i know years ago moparts had a place that you can read re bad or low quality vendors - maybe moparts should start that up again - this web site is the go 2 web site for mopar people ==

Finally a HUSKER again
I was, WAS going to buy a waterpump housing, and pump from them, then I talked with a local mopar guy here who said they are crapo, Showed me the pile of dlashing he knocked out of the inside of the lower hose bung, it was terrible. said he had flow issues with it. Id say so, looked like huge aluminum bugers stuck in there.

I passed and bought one from mancini, I paid about $100 more for it, but I know its not junk.

440 source is a great source for a headache, just my

Kasey

I got the aluminum water neck. No problems at all. I also have the water pump and housing from them. No chips in them or fitment issues. The pump and housing work great. I was able to break in my motor for 25min at 2500-3000 rpm and the temp didn't even go over 185.

How did an SFI approved damper already go to sh*t?

I bought the 440source billet unit...flawless for 5 years now. No leaks, perfect fit....still looks great!

I try to stay away from chrome as it never seems to say purty after awhile....
