I did it myself. I cleaned it up as good as I could and used 40/ 60 tin and lead soldering to cover the whole tube. turned out pretty good. Ill have to post a picture of it later. I guess there is a company that will do it but I cant remember who? seems like it was around $40 to do it?

The problem with sending mine to Al is the border... I'm in canada and sometimes customs can be a pain... especially when you're trying to cross a part without value for taxation...they get all "sqirrly" about why it's coming into the country... the delay and hassel isn't worth it.

Do you guys know if al is just zinc plating them ? I have a zinc kit here but wasn't sure if that process would work or hold up to the fuel inside the neck.

Kevin, I'm curious about the tin /lead solder idea... did you just use the same steps as you would laying solder on a body panel ? How has it held up? I guess a little extra lead in your fuel wouldn't be a bad thing !

I have one of the Wilson tubes. As with any part being restored, its all about the condition of the part to start with. Mine is in poor condition with a lot of surface rust and pitts. the one I bought from Al is much better although does have some pitting. I had my pick of three he had on hand. Bought it at Carlisle..no shipping and I was able to eyeball the parts.
I guess I wasnt a lot of help but you should call Mr Wilson.

Al's the man. Does an awesome job. Seen several myself. Been rounding up cores for him. Trying to build up his stock to cut down on turn around time.
