I've decided to tackle the power steering as it's own entity. I know I need a new pump and gear box, they're both pretty leaky. I believe the gearboxes are pretty much the same except for special option ones, so this is an easy decision. The pumps are not so easy. The pump I currently have is from a '69 New Yorker, it's original to the motor. The car is a '74 'Cuda. I used one original hose from the 'Cuda and had a new one made, decades ago when I was driving the car. This setup worked fine at the time. Now that I'm restoring it, I don't know which replacement pump to go with. Should I shoot for the same type as before, because I know it worked, or should I go for the one that's correct for the car, which will require possibly new hoses too? BTW, I have already ordered a pulley set, the PS pulley is the press-on type. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
