I just acquired a Borg Warner gm-3 off a 6.5 diesel and was wondering if anyone had specs on those and would it be large enough for a 400 hp 318 single turbo set up? Thanks

I dont have any specs but a 6.5 is a fair bit bigger than
a 318 so by rights it should have enough in it to
scatter a 318 pretty easy..... just a guess... but
it would make a difference when it start to spool

Should be more than plenty for 400,as long as you have supporting mods, just don't expect an instant spool up,might have to grab a sandwich, lol. There should be casting numbers, try searching online for specs.

Really depends on what you mean decent power, but I'd say it's large enough to gain couple hundred easy.I mess with Turbo Supras ,the little 3 liter can put down 700+ on 67mm turbo, but that's with high quality billet turbo, right supporting mods, good tuner that knows what he's doing to get all the power out of your combo.Dealing with turbo cars can get very expensive.Good set of cams, good flowing head with extensive head work, right exhaust manifold, wastegate, intake mani,t/b,lightened,ballanced, built bottom end with forged rods & pistons, billet dual or triple ballbearing turbo and you got over 40k under the hood Get a good fuel pump and turn up the boost.BTW, I'm assuming you built the motor with lower compression for boost. Otherwise it wouldn't be safe to run past 8 psi.
