Steve, It was stripped at American Metal Cleaning in Toledo, Ohio. The e-coating was done at EA Tech in Elkhart, Indiana. AMC had a 68 GT500KR convert. coming in after we left that was submerged in salt water, typically the kiss of death, thanks to Hurricane Sandy. I would have liked to see the before and after of that one. They seemed to think they will save it. I hope so. Pretty rare car.

David, I thought she said the 500KR was a convert but might have heard wrong. The fastback in there might be it. Tom, The process they use is not like an acidic base that some places use. It is neutralized quite easily. It is mundane enough that it takes a lot of seperate dunkings to get all the crud off. Also The ecoaters put it through 11 differenet rinse and conditioner tanks before the primer goes on. I am confident we are OK.

Tim, The strippers put a water soluable coating on it after the last process. This has about a 30 day life. Plenty of time if stripping should uncover some missed issues. If it should lightly flash rust the e coaters process will remove minor surface rust.

Thanks for the info, good to know. I've got a spot on my car that may or may not turn out to be a problem when it's stripped. Keep up the good work!
