Well...it was a very expensive weekend for me . Wafflebatter, myself and our friend Curt went for the long haul to Farmington for the 10k.

I'll start with the good...the new truck tows great and did'nt miss a beat..

The bad....second round on Friday I hit the guardrail about 100ft. out with the left quarter on the Arrow...

The ugly....the reason I hit the guardrail was the motor had a rod hanging out of it..

The lowdown...

Normally I have a couple of mph on Wafflebatter's roadster so I thought it kinda wierd that the first few passes we were both at 120. But I was on the launch control so it really did'nt hit me on Thursday. Friday I desided to leave off the wood and they had let me make a TT on Thursday with that set-up...seemed a bit off with a 5.74 at an even lower 119 though. So Friday I leave first round and the car is 3 off and only 117????....

Now I kinda thought something was up and on the way back the temp shot up a bit...yep crappy CSR pump took a dump again. We fix that and also find out that my CO2 guage is broke and I have no bottle pressure ...I get the bottle filled thanks to Joe Passaro and borrow a new guage thanks to Jamie Tupper and now the throttle is opening wide. Note: now I think this is where my ET and MPH went.....Nope..kicked a rod out and went for a pretty wild ride ending on the left guardrail.

Saturday Wafflebatter double entered and offered his roadster to me for his second entry ..The people and the "Farm" were nice enough to let us triple with my paid entry for the Arrow ....Now I get to drive his car for the first time and my first hit in a open bodied ride ...I was a little nervous since I would be in the left lane again and did'nt want to have to do bodywork on two cars ...It left great and I will leave it to him to tell you what it ran...IE: he must have had more turkey than me on Friday night at the Passaro's.. I lost first round.. -.012 red

Jamie Tupper did well on Friday getting down to five and we did the Nascar pit team thing trying to keep the tranny cool in his Chevy powered dragster...I was fun and took some of the sting out of the Arrow issues.

Overall...a bummer...but friends and fellow racers made it a good time anyway

Sorry to hear that Eric. I couldn't run this weekend, but wished I had known you guys were coming. I live about 20 mins from the track.

Not yet...I'm taking the whole mess to Wafflebatter's garage in NY..It will be pulled and then out to BGR for inspection. I'm thinking a bearing locked up. This was the ? motor that Bob had a build thread on. In no way do I think it had anything to do with the "repairs" to the parts or assembly at Bob's shop... Needless to say the next one will be made with K1 internals

How many passes were on the mill Eric? Good to hear you were pleased with the tow rig at least.

Man that sucks but we've all been there. You race long enough and stuff is going to happen. The body damage doesn't look too bad must not have been a hard hit, that's good. No one was hurt and you still had a good time. Too bad about the engine though.

Sorry to hear about your troubles over the weekend Eric. If you need a block I have a 77 short block sitting on the stand that I started taking apart. I picked it up for 100.00 and would let it go for that if you need it. You can take it before the snow flies and pay me next year if interested.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Hopefully the topend is not hurt and all that will be needed is just the shortblock.

Thanks for the offers and the sympathy... ...I'll get the little red plowhorse back out. My neighbor IE: bodyshop owner just left...he said no big deal...as he left he also said he had been thinking of a couple of cool paint jobs for it also.

So looks like new paint and faster for next year...

Sorry to hear about the damage. But the body doesn't look too bad from the picture.
Now the motor with the rod sticking out hurts, big time...
