Well...it was a very expensive weekend for me . Wafflebatter, myself and our friend Curt went for the long haul to Farmington for the 10k. I'll start with the good...the new truck tows great and did'nt miss a beat.. The bad....second round on Friday I hit the guardrail about 100ft. out with the left quarter on the Arrow... The ugly....the reason I hit the guardrail was the motor had a rod hanging out of it.. The lowdown... Normally I have a couple of mph on Wafflebatter's roadster so I thought it kinda wierd that the first few passes we were both at 120. But I was on the launch control so it really did'nt hit me on Thursday. Friday I desided to leave off the wood and they had let me make a TT on Thursday with that set-up...seemed a bit off with a 5.74 at an even lower 119 though. So Friday I leave first round and the car is 3 off and only 117????.... Now I kinda thought something was up and on the way back the temp shot up a bit...yep crappy CSR pump took a dump again. We fix that and also find out that my CO2 guage is broke and I have no bottle pressure ...I get the bottle filled thanks to Joe Passaro and borrow a new guage thanks to Jamie Tupper and now the throttle is opening wide. Note: now I think this is where my ET and MPH went.....Nope..kicked a rod out and went for a pretty wild ride ending on the left guardrail. Saturday Wafflebatter double entered and offered his roadster to me for his second entry ..The people and the "Farm" were nice enough to let us triple with my paid entry for the Arrow ....Now I get to drive his car for the first time and my first hit in a open bodied ride ...I was a little nervous since I would be in the left lane again and did'nt want to have to do bodywork on two cars ...It left great and I will leave it to him to tell you what it ran...IE: he must have had more turkey than me on Friday night at the Passaro's.. I lost first round.. -.012 red Jamie Tupper did well on Friday getting down to five and we did the Nascar pit team thing trying to keep the tranny cool in his Chevy powered dragster...I was fun and took some of the sting out of the Arrow issues. Overall...a bummer...but friends and fellow racers made it a good time anyway

Man that sucks but we've all been there. You race long enough and stuff is going to happen. The body damage doesn't look too bad must not have been a hard hit, that's good. No one was hurt and you still had a good time. Too bad about the engine though.

Sorry to hear about your troubles over the weekend Eric. If you need a block I have a 77 short block sitting on the stand that I started taking apart. I picked it up for 100.00 and would let it go for that if you need it. You can take it before the snow flies and pay me next year if interested.

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

Thanks for the offers and the sympathy... ...I'll get the little red plowhorse back out. My neighbor IE: bodyshop owner just left...he said no big deal...as he left he also said he had been thinking of a couple of cool paint jobs for it also. So looks like new paint and faster for next year...

Sorry to hear about the damage. But the body doesn't look too bad from the picture. Now the motor with the rod sticking out hurts, big time...

as Eric stated, he will let me tell you how he ran in my roadster, best pass of the weekend for me was a 5.58@ 122mph, he gets in it, never been down the track in it and clicks off a 5.52 @ almost 123mph, fastest pass the car has ever made, great job to Eric for never driving the car . Now I weigh about 25-30 lbs more than him so it just shows how much weight has an effect on E.T. also this was a great race and recommend it to everyone, great track, people, lots of fun, well run event.

Hey I know that car...I ran against you at Lancaster for the Nostalgia weekend this year. I also saw you at NYIRP a few times. Pretty sure you will see a lot of me next year as well.
I ran the big yellow Duster...
