What gauge or thickness is the metal on the subframe/frames on a b body? I need to repair some rust on the torsion bar mount and its small enough to patch metal in. What thickness do I need?

Thanks

I could be wrong, and hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will follow up to confirm or correct me.

I thought the frame/subframe metal was in the neighborhood of 16 gauge steel. Other metals were 18 gauge and on later cars the sheetmetal panels were 20 gauge (or just slightly thicker than 20 gauge to fall between 18-20).

Good luck.
