..a lot of guys find the fast ramp extreme energy cams a little noisy.
..are the Voodoo cams similar?

i run a voodoo 60710 roller with stock roller gear and comp 901-16 springs no noise(which work with all the lunati voodoo cams, drop on with stock seals and no machine work, unlike the lunati doubles they recomend)

I run a 230/230 @ .050 lunati in a truck with comp 901-16 no noise

i run the lunati bracket master 292/292 in a 360 truck with the comp 901-16 no noise on any of mine.

read a lot of the comps are just noisy and have a bad rap of lobe failures

no comps for me

I run the voodoo 60303 hydraulic cam. Valvetrain runs as quietly as it did with the stock cam.

The Comp's Extreme's are somewhat noisy. I have used several Lunati Voodoo's--they are great I use them whenever I can. Oh yeah--no noises either. J.Rob

I am running the 303 as well in my stroked 400 (451) '72 4 speed RR. Love the power it has with the 4 speed but it makes clatter between 2000 - 2500 rpm, before and after it is quiet as stock. I talked to the Lunati Tech and was suggested to break in some stock lifters and see how that works. Right now I have the intake and lifters out taking each apart in hopes of finding something but so far all looks good. The tech also said my stock eddy springs should be fine with that cam.

What springs are you other 303 users using?

Another 60303 (440-6) user. Little valvetrain noise, some chop at idle.

Lunati Voodoo camshafts have a slower closing ramp than the Comp Thumpers do. It keeps the lifters happier.
I have almost always used Comp cams in everything I built, but lately have been playing with some of the Lunati stuff.
So far I like Lunati better.
