What combos have you run with a four speed ?

I'm buying more stuff to get the basic 500 hp 446" together. Aftermarket H-beams, forged slugs, stock forged crank, stealth heads, Victor intake and a decent sized hyd roller cam. Stock 1970 833, Lakewood bell, Ram 3500lb pressure plate and HD clutch disc in front of a 489 case with a solid pinion sleeve and 3.91's with a cone-grip. Will prob drop a set of Dr. Diff's stronger axles in, but I'm never going to try and hook it.

What can I expect aside from lots of tire smoke and a broken 8 3/4 ?

I've been ridding around in a 475-500-ish HP 70 Dart Swinger with a basic E-headed 440, RVMB and a 4.10 Spooled 8 3/4" with 26" tires. Dear lord what a violent experience that makes me want a 440 so badly. I will have a little more weight, less gear, a little more power and the stick of course.

Sound bueno ?

Don't go racing with slicks on it. I'm not sure if the trans or the ring gear will blow first.

My dad's been runing a stock 23 spine in front of his 11 second 3900lbs 446cube bigblock for....EVER. Never broke a single part in the trans ever!

So many options out there. The strokers do make amazing power and torque but I don't know if that much torque will work well with a chassis that is set up to corner.

A 446" lacking a bit of the low end but having a good midrange seems to be what I need to stick with, plus I already have so much of the stuff that is better sized with a smaller CI motor.

I'm saying that like 7.2liters is a "small" motor, but I guess nowdays it is.
