I didn't want to hijack the QA1 thread...

What have you guys used? I was looking at the Alston front strut weld in stub. I priced out about 3200 for the strut stub kit. Is this about right?

What are the pros/cons from a-arm to strut?

strut front ends will limit you to never racing in any of the small tire classes

that 3200 can be better spend elsewhere

like a bobs profab front end

Or just leave it alone.... SS/AH cars do ok

Strut front ends are lighter, simpler and provide more room in the engine area for headers and such. Less moving parts than an a arm system and easy to adjust.

Struts are great for classes or projects that they will fit into. With the bottom rail or tube lower than any other system, you can't beat the amount of options you have for what goes where. But like said, certain classes don't allow it. One thing that comes to mind for me is the ease of working on the car. A little tougher with a A arm deal due to the frame rail locations, etc.
