Was there a "140 mph Certified" speedo available in 1968?
I had my Fury I Pursuit at MIR yesterday and a spectator claimed that "State" cars would have had a 140mph Certified Speedo. My car is a 2 Door Unmarked Pursuit 440. It has a 120mph Certified Speedo.
Info is scarce on Cop Cars... I have the standard books but have not heard this before.
Thanks.

I just sent a two door fury II 2dr to the scrap yard tue's............Wow, your car is the best looking example of one like that I have ever seen!!
My car was just a 318 three on the tree car that was a rusty, rusty northern michigan car.
But to answer your question.....I dont think they ever made a 140mph for that car in 67 or 68. I've done that gen fury for year's and have never seen one.
Great looking car though!
It is a great looking car and should be in a magazine. Chris failed to mention he drove it about 70-75 miles each way to MIR yesterday.

Thanks for all the info and Support. Cool that some Pursuit Brethren are representing theirs! I'll post some more pics. Drove it 200 miles so far and now need to get it on the lift and clean it up. I think this is as "Muscle Car" as anything with a Bird/Bee/SS/GT etc. Stripped down and All About Buisness.

When I was in Sterling with the Colorado State Patrol as a radio tech, we had a red 68 Fury I unmarked. It had the 120 mph speedometer in it. It was 3 years old at the time, took forever for the oil pressure to build up when started cold but was a strong runner when warmed up. Since it was unmarked, I could run errands for the radio shop around town in it. I loved it. Craig
