Car is a 71 Cuda'.
Coming out of paint booth sometime this month.

Would like the best correct front blackout color like what OEM used. (correct black hue)
Anyone have the right color code mixture?

Was Organasol used?

Thanks in advance.

I'd love to know myself. If anyone has a paint formula that would help immensely.

Organisol was not used. OE looks like a DP90 primer. I use Krylon Semi-flat.

John, that's what I used too on the GTX (Krylon Semi-FLAT) Didn't care if it was done right (coverage area) as long as you couldn't see the Y2 behind the grill like before I blacked it out. Those are factory paint runs on the original Y2 paint under the blackout

That looks good! The black seems to match OE pretty nicely. The thing I like about the Krylon is that it's a spray bomb, you don'thave to mix it. Also, I had to redo my blackout a couple of times before I was happy with it. I was
able to wash it off with thinner without damage to the urethane.

Remember to spray it from an angle under the car; originally the blackout was done by a guy in a pit as the car rolled along above him. Either the Trim Black or Krylon Semi will look fine if you get the "pattern" right; rest assured Chrysler didn't spend any more than necessary for the paint they used, though it was doubtless applied by spraygun.

Checkout Black Satin..
The satin finish has a slight sheen to it, more attractive then semi-flat...

Just my $0.02..

could you be more specific?

is "Black Satin" the brand name? Does in come in a rattle bomb or something that can be squirted through a gun?
Thanks for any help.

Here is a shot of an untouched original 5000 mile car. Notice the paint and try to duplicate it. Looks like it does have a slight sheen to it.

Krylon also has Black Satin finish paint, I think that's what is being suggested?

Black satin is basically a shade of black paint. For Example: There is flat black, satin black, semi gloss black and then gloss black.

Major paint suppliers carry Black Satin including Rustoleum..
The Satin finish is more attractive than semi-gloss or flat, as it has about a 25% gloss added. Also because of its slight sheen it has a more equal distributed pattern when applied. It is available in rattle-cans or liquid cans such as quarts or pints.

Try a can and apply to a random part and compare side-by-side to a part finished in flat or semi-gloss, you will like the better appearance of the Satin.. Guaranteed!!

Just my $0.02..
