Where's Doc Flabberglass in this thread? He was always the one knocking Jeg and calling him goofy names. What will he do now?

He's tetering.

Maybe this will send him over the edge.

Sure,
You can call Jeggie a Hired Gun...
But he's the Best hired gun, period.
He and his family may not be dedicated to the blue M
But they are certainly dedicated to drag racing, and put a bunch of money back into the sport.

Yeah, he's not a Mopar purist like Larry Morgan, Scott Geoffrion, and Darrell Alderman.

For the record, Jeg's has a long standing record of sponsoring Mopars...going back to the late 60's.

Check out pics of "Akron Arlen" Vanke's SS Cudas, you'll see the Jeg's logo on 'em

WIZE,
I'm fairly sure ole Arlen had some pictures of Jeg Sr. that he didn't want published...

People can dislike him because he's not a Mopar guy if they want. The one thing he is..... A WINNER , I don't care what he drives, he wins in it . Plus his crew makes his cars go down the track, you can't win championships shakin' the tires and getting out of the groove.

I can't argue that at all. And having him part of the Mopar Pro Stock effort certainly improves the odds of the brand getting into the Winner's Circle when all is said and done. I'm just not "excited" about it from a personal viewpoint.

Some of these responses about Jegs lack of loyalty, are comical. It is amazing to me, that some of you are still willing to bash a guy like this, who, without any doubt, is THE VERY BEST DRIVER IN HIS CATEGORY, for the last 10-15 years. Is he supposed to shock the world, and let everyone know that he will have a purple shaft cam, an 8 3/4, and super stock springs, for his new pro stocker? Come on people, it is 2011, and in any professional motorsport, corporate money is key. Not only is Mopar ramping up their effort in this bad economy, they just landed the best Pro Stock talent in the business. Some of you are just never satisfied, which, on the whole, speaks volumes.....
Try looking at this with the glass half full, you will feel much better about the Yellow & Black car.

I think in my case it's mostly a reflection of having become "disenfranchised" from the whole NHRA professional series. I used to follow Pro Stock results every race... and now I have to admit I can't even tell you who the race winners are unless I see some blurb on here about the results.

Regardless, my kudos to Mopar for stepping it up in an environment when others are looking for reasons to scale back (or step away completely).

I think its great. As was stated he is a winner and one of if not the best driver out there. I mean when you add Jeg to the good teams Mopar already has......AJ , VN and V Gains we (us) Mopar will have a great Pro Stock effort in 2012. And I believe Jeg is at least a little Mopar biased as I heard he loved driving the Holten 68 Cuda in the Hemi shootout. Any way you look at it it should be a good year for Mopar Pro Stock.

Isn't Cagnassi's shop in Mooresville too? Wasn't that Jeggie's old Boss now building Erica's cars?

If you're a sponsor you want to back the best horse available, I think maybe Jeg sees untapped potential inthe Hemi platform. Also at the Pro level I think it's a huge competition advantage to just have a crew and a pure driver....as great as AJ is you can't help but wonder if sometimes you're preoccupied with second guessing the set-up at the line during staging, doing both the wrenching or pulling the levers is hard enough...gotta be really tough in Pro Stock where (unlike T/F and F/C) an .01 light is usually considered "late"

Why question Jeg's loyalty. A few day's ago a lot of people were on this board singing praises for Ford Donkey's. Talk about being brand loyal. Seems like a lot of people have a problem with that.
