I have a 70 Cuda with factory front disk brakes. I looked under the car last week and noticed that there was brake fluid puddled on the floor next to the driver side tire (engine compartment side). It turns out it is leaking where the hose connection goes into the caliber housing. I tried tightening it but it would not turn anymore so it seems that it is as tight as it will get. I took the car out for short drive and parked it. About an hour later I came out and looked under the car and their was brake fluid running down the back of the caliper housing again.

The front brake hoses on the car where replaced (not by me)about 9 years ago and appear to be in good shape. The other side had the same problem about a year ago and I just went out and tightened it a little and that seemed to fix the problem.

So I'm wondering where to go at this point. Should I loosen the connection and try re-tightening it or am I going to have to replace the brake hose?

Get a MP copper ribbed washer 5030064. The 6 might be an 8 EDIT yeah forgot you need 2. MORE EDIT you may have the real thin smooth washers that come with the calipers. On the one washer between the hose/caliper see how deep the recess is because you need it to be taller than the flush height and the recess depth varies on diff calipers. If that's the case you might get by with a much easier to come by thicker soft copper smooth one as the dealer may have to order the good ribbed ones

Try 2 new washers. You shouldn't have to really torque down on the banjo bolt. "snug" is all you need. Just make sure it's not leaking at the crimp connection. Jeff

Take another good look at the hose...Make sure it's not leaking out of the fitting and appearing to be the washers...
