Hey gang.
Was curious. I have a couple of the Bendix boosters that I've had for years. I want to verify they, or the one on my '69 Charger 500, work properly. The 500 doesn't move under it's own power yet. Part of the process to get that going is getting the hydraulic brake system up to speed. As you know, the booster's part of the system. The motor runs, so I can create vacuum as a source. Right now I have the original booster and master cylinder on the car. The master cylinder's shot as far as it's has no fluid in it and a lot of surface corrosion.

Thanks.
Troy

sure you can test it on the car like that.

you can tell if it gives assist or not.
you can tell if it is pulling the pedal to the floor,
and you can tell if it will release or not.

just fire it up and step on it and see if it is easy to push down.
shut off the car
then pump and see how many it takes for it to get hard to push.

then start the car again. check pump till it is easy again. shut off the car and listen for vacuum leaks, or wait like 30 min and see if it is still easy to push down.

you can also feel for jerkiness as you push down if the internal valve is bad and it will try to grab when you stop.
