676 is the last 3 digits of the part number, it's used to identify the trans at the factory so they put the right trans behind the engine on assembly line.

Yes an A body tail will bolt on , you also have to change the mainshaft and swap out the rear 308 bearing for a 307 bearing to fit the A body tail.

Came out of a 70 B body. You should post the VIN stamping. Who knows, someone might be lucky enough to get their original trans back.
