First off- we had a GREAT time at the track all weekend . I wish it could have been the whole gang but it was just Ted , Steve and myself .

Great weather -except for the 20+ mph crosswind...

Saturday morning----we all 3 showed up late and missed the 1st time trial--we all pulled in the gate at the same time which was weird

I was making good time but had a big problem.....and had to pull off on the highway , hit the ditch , and "evacuate" .

5 minutes later down the road....truck ran out of gas . Threw 2 gallons in and hit a station--and on my way (late)


So me and Ted are eyeballing each other and I told him we have been waiting all year to lock horns---LETS GET IT ON !!

We went to the back of the TT #2 line and went at it ...

Day 1 elims , ol Teddy went 4 rounds ! He was happier than a Billygoat takin a crap on an eggplant .

I went 3 , Steve went 2? , Steve had a problem right before the finish line.....fuel related...



So we kicked back and ate some good food (thanks Mrs Boomer) and I had 79 beers , i think steve had 2 . Ted went home to bed.


Day 2 .....
had some rain-they dried the track for a long time and cut us to 1 time trial. I hate that--why not give us 2? Im sure every racer would not mind the extra 30 minutes of a race day vs not getting 2 TT .

My car missed and popped on my time run. I suspected the brand NEW O'Reilly cap and rotor. Miraculously , Ted had a new Accel cap and rotor with him !!!!
Stuck her on and it was back to normal. (do not ever buy a mopar cap and rotor from Oreilly auto parts---i killed 2 in 8 race days ---no kidding.)

Ted went out in R1 and hung up his gloves

Steve and I destroyed .

I went to the semi-final and lost by .009 MOV ! The car slowed .02 and i had a FRiggin .009 RT

Stevie moved on and won Pro --then had to run a Super pro car for the big $$.

And he slayed the dragon !!

Really great time --too bad the season is over as we prepare for the blizzards and ice storms

Yupp...We all had a blast! It was a great weekend for the Mopars. Joe Schmall took home the big cash Saturday in his 69 Fury and Steve won Sunday. The old 64 was turnin and burnin on Saturday. I got down to seven cars in Pro and lost on a double breakout...But still got to hit the pay window!! Sunday,I found a new way to lose..The car launched great as it always does and when I pulled second gear the shift chip flew out of my MSD lite! So I am watching the tach and the other car. I treed the crap outta him and had a good lead...I tapped the brakes too hard and he went by my and took the win! So I think next year we will continue the rivalry...It is too much fun! You got me this year,longhair but I will be gunning for ya in 2012!!

Saturday I loaded the Valiant (Cuda has a rod sticking out of the oil pan) and headed to the track. You just know your going to have a bad day when there is a guy taking a dump in the ditch on Highway 20.
I had back to back .001 RTs in time trials. That's bad because then I am real gunshy on the tree for first round of eliminations. Ted rolls up behind me in the lanes and sure enough we get paired up. Ted pulls a .031 light to my .054. His win light comes on at the stripe....Oh the horror!
I buy back second round and kill the guy on the tree. Just as I catch him and pass him at half track, my engine shuts off. I coast helplessly and watch him take the stripe. I ran out of gas!
Time to drown my sorrows. Ted gives me a diet Busch and Kevin gives me a Milwaukee's Beast....who said Mopar guys are cheap?

Sunday morning I have to pull out of this dark pit of despair and redeem myself. Ted lost first round so he starts making us lunch. He says I can't eat anything until I lose. Kevin and I mow them down until he lost in the semi-finals. At least it was to a Duster. That left an all Mopar final. I took that one and then had to face the Super Pro/Pro run off. It's after 3pm and Ted still won't let me eat. At this point I am so weak from hunger I am not sure if I can push the tranny brake button.
To my surprise, the Super Pro guy asks me if I want to split the purse. I said sure and went on to take the win!

i know i can pick up a tenth this winter so i might come after that Valiant next spring !

Steve...I think you should leave the Cuda parked and run the Valiant! Great job,buddy!! I can't think of a better way for us to end the season. Good friends,good food,and good racing!! It took all season to figure out my car but it is doing what I want! I want to thank all of the racers here on Moparts for all of your tips and suggestions this year...You guys are the best! A big thanks to bad1970dust(Jimmy) for the great job on my tranny and ladder bars...This thing flat out hooks!! It is time to get the car ready for its long winter nap. And I will bring it back out next year!!

Hey Kevin..a little birdie told me you're out of hood pins again...I'll email ya some! Good job and a fun time.
