Anyone ever hear of a Dana 60 cracking at the pinion where the yoke seal is? I have a brand new seal and yet there is a tiny amount of fluid leaking from that area where the driveshaft yoke enters the pumpkin. No, I haven't put it up on a lift yet to actually wipe it off and do a thorough check. Just curious as to whether it is even possible. [This car used to be a weekend racer.]

No on the cracking, not uncommon for them to leak out of the old leather pinion seal, especially in a race car that sits a lot Look closely, fix it once

It could be leaking past the pinion splines...not common but it can happen.

It's a pretty heavy casting , but stranger things have happened .

What did the seal surface on the yoke look like , if it's got a groove worn in it changing the seal is not going to fix that .
