Hello, would anyone be interested in racing thier cars in a factory appearing type race at next year's Mopars at the Strip April 13-15, 2012? I am putting my car together to race as a factory appearing car and I would love to race with cars in the same set up! Michigan and the eastcoast events are a little far for me to travel from west Texas so I thought I'd go for the Vegas show which is 11 or so hours from me. If interested give me a call so we can chat.

Thanks, Juan (619) 820-6271 cell.

Exactly what does "factory appearing " mean?

Hello, it means that the car would be raced with factory parts such as bias ply tires, exhaust manifolds, just to name a few. It basically has to run with the parts used when it left the factory. However, internally anything can be done. For example, I have a 440 sixpack motor in my 69 superbee that is a higher than stock compression and it's been stroked to 493 cu in. and the heads have been worked over but you couldn't tell by looking at it because externally it looks factory stock.

Thanks, Juan.

Jaun,

I would love to race out there! But 42 hour drive 2600 miles @ 7 miles to the gallon I am dizzy just thinking about it.

It would be great to see you round up some new blood out that way though!

Ed, I don't blame ya. Too much $ senor! Yea, I'm trying to round up some west coast racers...we'll see. I grew up in San Diego, CA, and I must admit the racing isn't as intense as the eastcoast.

Thanks, Juan.

Hello, yes I have. I'm hoping to bring the factory appearing racing to the west coast where I grew up as a kid. I lived on the east coast for 6 years and had a blast going to the races out there.

Thanks, Juan.

I would also like to see some sort of F.A.S.T. out here on the west coast.

Hello Jose,

Do you have any suggestions on how I can do that? Do you have a car you can race? We can start by you and me racing

Thanks, Juan.

Hello Juan, I have been asking this question out here for years. I have been sitting on a 68 Formula s that im converting back to a street car. I would like to use it. I would rather run a big block car but I have it. I am surprised that they havent tried a pure stock class at Mopars at the strip. Then it could lead to a F.A.S.T. class. Joe
