Well, we didn't get the 422 AllStars championship, but finished high in the rankings. We made it to the quarter finals at ATCO yesterday, but couldn't make the call. 3 convertor bolts decided to exit and boogered up the threads in the convertor (been battling this problem late in the season). I can't believe the generosity of the other 422 racers. Three people offered their cars for him to drive to continue racing, but the rules did not allow it.

In 10 races Kevin made it to 6 finals with 4 wins, 2 RU and a semi final finish. Great job. Earnings this season were over $5K.

I want to give a special thanks to the members on Moparts for the great advice and to Bob George Racing for the great intake/carb setup that gave us the consistency we needed to go rounds this year.

We will be loaded for bear next season...

"3 convertor bolts decided to exit and boogered up the threads in the convertor (been battling this problem late in the season)."

If you're not using RED Loctite they will always find a way to loosen and fail. Don't ask me how I know...

Great job on your going rounds. Those guys area tough bunch of racers.

I'll figure it out when I pull the motor. The convertor never fit tight against the flexplate with this motor (440 source 493). It fit fine behind two other motors. I used hardened shims to make up the difference and even with loctite 262 (red) they worked loose after a day of racing. As the season progressed, they seemed to loosen up more often. I even tried hardened internal star washers and loctite 262 to no avail. I think they came out when Kevin came back on the return road as there were a bunch of front engine dragsters that took forever to make it back to the pits.

I suspect that the flywheel flange is not machined correctly for the convertor, but won't know until I pull it apart. We will put the BGR motor back in next year and hope to do better.
