This is the kit we sell which is supplied to us by R/T Specialties. We haven`t had any concerns of complaints in the 10 Years that we`ve stocked this item. http://www.pepsparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=1202002
Neither of those two points make the kit right. The masses don't know what is right or wrong 99% of the time.
I have the benefit of having 7 Challengers so I can go to each of my cars and try "figure out" what should be correct. I use this great resource "Moparts" to also accomplish that goal.
The masses look to you guys, the suppliers, to be knowledgable about the things you sell. Now I know that you guys can't be all knowing, but we should all be striving to supply the best parts (meaning correct) that we can.

Bill - this is why I like you
An honest answer of this is what is out there. I'll send you an email to order some of the 5" straps and I'll see if I can modify them.
Thanks Chris

I never stated the kit we sell is concours correct. It is not my intention to decieve any of the masses as to what`s right or wrong. I stated that our supplier which in this case is R/T Specialties supplies us with the kits we stock. Tom in my opinion is one of the most knowledgable people in the Mopar hobby when it come to clips and fastners and know that he isn`t wrong 99% of the time on all the inventory he has. He supplies most of the venders out there. I, like yourself also depend on my suppliers to supply us with quality correct parts. There`s no way I could ever know all there`s to know about the Plymouth Dodge and Chrysler cars we`ve all come to restore and enjoy. I also don`t have the luxury of having dozens of each body style and year Plymouth, Dodge, and Chrysler cars around to use for reference. With that being said, there`s no way one person knows all there`s to know about what`s right or wrong on these cars. In our case, I`m always on the look out for accurate information on what`s right and what`s wrong. It`s a process of learning. We always strive to supply the end user with correct, top quality parts, but as most know, never say never with Chrysler. That`s why I asked for a picture of what`s supposed to be the correct style wire loom. I`m curious as well and as you stated Moparts members have a great wealth of knowledge and are usually willing to share that knowledge so we can all learn more about these great cars.

I agree with everything you said.
I'll get you a photo of an original loom tonight.

Does anyone have a picture of a new 9 hole one next to an original one? When I was looking at mine I thought the overall length was the same, but there were more holes towards the pin. If that's the case, you can't just cut 2 holes off.
Here is what the original 7 hole looks like.
