Almost a year to the day since I've had the Dart on the track, and I won my first race last night!!! I came in first in a field of 17 cars. Ran until 2:30 AM! I was out of racing since 1984 and just got back in a car in Oct of '10. Feels good to be back in the saddle!  A big thanks to those who have helped me here on Moparts. Lot's of good tech advice here!!

No, but close...
This was my first car, which I bought from my grandma when I was 16. Blew it up after moving to AZ in '84 and couldn't afford to fix it. Sold it after 2 years of sitting in the AZ sun. I was a starving student at the time and the car had to go:(
Built this one as a "tribute" to grandma's car. Took three years to build and it hit the track on 10/10/10 and it runs 10s. I guess 10 is it's lucky number;)

Thanks and it definitely is a great feeling. When I saw that last win light come on I gave the car a pat on the dashboard and said "Thank you grandma!"
Had it not been for her Rally Red Dodge Dart I may never have got involved in the sport. It's funny, after she sold me the Dart she went two years without driving, then she bought a '79 Malibu. She always bugged me about wanting her Dart back because she liked it so much more than the Malibu.

Funny how most of us stick with the same style we had in high school.I had a 65 belvedere in HS,30 years later I have a '63 which is what I always wanted.I had this vision in my head since I was 13 years old and now it's in the garage.Have the '63 about 25 years now
