What are options for dealing with the water valve (the valve that is visable engine side linking the 2 heater hoses via the bypass hose; see arrow in photo) on a restoration?

Mine works fine, but the finish is poor. Do you look for a replacement or get the old one replated? Is the plating gold CAD? haven't seen these being repop'd. Mine is original or at least is a chrysler product as has a stamp. wasn't sure if it could be replated as there are moving parts invovled.

Good question . . . I have a 1970 Sport Satellite with factory a/c and just used a wire brush to make it look clean. As I understand you can get a kit with the seal, if yours is leaking. Apparently it is like $20 and easy to do, rather than sending to someone and spending $150 to have them do it.

But, check with classic auto air in Florida, they say they restore hoses, etc . . .
