I recently purchased a '62 Dodge Dart 330 wagon from California. The car has not arrived here yet - In the meantime I am wondering if anyone knows if the back glass is made from curved or flat glass. I know all the door glass is flat but not sure about the rear piece.

The rear glass is broken and I want to try sourcing something before the car gets here... Hoping it is flat!!! Thanks for your help!

If you are referring to quarter glass,it is curved, tailgate is also curved.Same as 62 Plymouth. All 62/65 b-body wagons use same glass.

Like Bill says. Compound curves in all the rear glass, and the tailgate glass has a kind of notch at the upper corners. I have a pair of quarter windows but no tailgate glass. The only wagon near here in a yard is gone now, so I can't grab that for you. You might try Ted Stephens or Joe Suchy for glass or leads to some, or in the West, try Wildcat in Sandy, OR. Weatherstrips/seals for the quarter & gate glass are available from restorationspecialties.com if you need them.

Is that tailgate or quarter, can't see them selling quarter glass for that price.

It's "backglass" as opposed to "door glass" or "quarter glass" or "windshield".

The OP wanted glass and the immediate assumption was that it'd have to be from a yard. So I found NOS glass. Now there's a question about price? $200 is a couple of tanks of gas. If the only thing holding me back from completing a project was a $200 piece of glass I'd sure pay it. Ten years ago I got window glass from a '65 D100 and it was $50, used.

The Web is a powerful thing. And economics sure do change from time to time.

It was all loud and clear for me, thanks everyone. Truth be told I just wanted to know if the glass was flat or not. I have a great source for flat glass, but not having the car here or even having an unbroken piece to look at, I just needed to know if it was flat or curved so I could start looking in the right places.

I'm all over that NOS back glass, I think $200 is more than fair. Thanks for the hookup dogdays!

I sourced a piece of glass, thanks everyone. Next question - before I start calling the usual suspects - Wildcat, Moore's, Mitchell's, etc - do any of you who replied here have an extra manual tailgate regulator and handle? Mine is electric, it's dead and it must go. I do not want another electric setup. Thanks!

Thats funny.. I searched high & low for the parts to add a power rear window to my Falcon wagon... Making electrical stuff work better than new is easy just add relays so the motor gets good power... I like the idea of being able to crack the rear window while rolling down the road....

Fix it,not that big of a deal, you won't be sorry.Wouldn't be without mine.I have everything you need but this post will probably get deleted because some mod will think it is a for sale add when in essence it's just trying to help someone!.
