Thats weird....usually everyone tosses out the plastic one and puts in a Brass float....why do you opt for the plastic one?

The plastic one last basically forever.I had a stash of them I pulled from Ford pumps when we replaced the pumps.I probally gave a dozen away over the years. The brass ones fall apart and send crud thru the system. That and most of the new ones are compatable with the alky in new gas.Rocky

Ford - COAZ-9202-B. I got this from another member so check it before buying. Ron P.S. Let me know how it works out.
From what I can gather from this part number, this float is brass. It looks correct, but still looking for plastic. Joe

Can someone post the PN for the plastic Mopar part? I've had 2 brass ones corrode.
This was the best I was able to find regarding plastic floats. This float fits the Jeep CJ but looks somewhat similar. The part name and number is OMIX-ADA Part # 17729.01. There are some on ebay. They will probably fit with a little bending on the sender unit arm hoop.

We had our sending units made by the original manufacturer to Chrysler. When we ordered them, we ordered some extra floats and filters. A couple of years after we made them, Year One went overseas and had some made. Then a few other companies started making units overseas. We couldn't compete with the cheap overseas sending units, so we quit making them.
What we have been selling is left over stock. I don't think Chrysler ever serviced the plastic float separately, so that's why we couldn't find the number. But, we could be wrong, so if someone finds it, please post. Since we had run out of floats, we pulled some from in stock units to satisfy Joe's order.
I have emailed the supplier to see if I can get more. They still make parts for the OEM, so my measly 100 count order will not get alot of immediate attention compared to a several hundred thousand count order from a OEM for whatever current part they need. If, and when, they email me back, I'll post here stating if I can get more. If anyone is interested in getting some, please let me know.
Thanks, Randy
