Ok guys and gals, bear with me here...

I ran a search on this and it always seems to go round and round and get overcomplicated due to b-body rears, moved springs and oddball wheel and tire sizes...

I just need to hear from somebody running 275/??/15 on a 15x7 or 15x8 Stockton or Wheel Vintiques rally wheel Duster/Demon/Dart Sport with stock location springs ONLY

I just need a definitive answer on tire size and backspacing for one rim or the other (15x7 or 15x8)so I can order wheels and tires...

PLEASE

To be crystal clear here is my setup -

ESPO 1" over springs in stock location, factory stock a-body 8-3/4" rear with drum brakes.

PICS WOULD BE AWESOME!!!! THANKS!!!!

Almost on the road ...finally

72 duster here. stock spring location. stock 8.25 out of 75 dart. Stock brakes. 15x8 4.5 backspace Wheel Vintiques ralleys. 275/60s. VERY close to springs. Tires rub on the springs sometimes when making a sharp turn. A thin wheel spacer would probably take care of it ,but when i build an 8.75 for it i may have the housing done just a little wider than factory A body width.

A friend ov mine had a 72 Demon with stock (HD) rear suspension on what was pretty much a F.A.S.T car, a few years before that became popular. The ONLY visible clues his car wasn't bone stock were headers ("Dealer installed!" haha) and 15x8" steelies with 265/50/15 tires. Those were Ramcharger rims and have a 4 1/4" backspace. No problems. I've seen those same rims on another Duster before as well... dont remember the tire size... they were 275's and either 50's or 60's, i forget. Again, no issues.

Watch your 'claimed' correct backspaces and sizes, there was a thread on that very thing in here not too far back where the 'factory' backspacing on certain manufacturers was not what it was supposed to be.

I have a stock '72 Duster 340 with P275-60/15 with no problem. I had my 14" ralley wheel centers put in a 15 x 8 rim by Specialty Wheel in Oregon. He gave me all the backspace he could by moving the center as far back in the wheel as he could. I believe it is 4-3/8" backspace. I use air shocks to raise the car a 1/2" and they work fine.
